Ghost Boot Achi Driver
UPDATE: Yes Bare Foot Kid's alternative did work. Boot to the BIOS and set the SATA controller to ATA. Ghost is not designed to work with other types of RAID such as software RAID or RAID 1. For data recovery, I have already purchased seagate's software "File Recovery For Windows" and "[email protected] File Recovery For Windows". Source
Select the Use Extended Interrupt 13h disk access (ALT + E) 6. I've cloned several machines with Ghost and was always successful, however when I try to clone this laptop it doesn't recognize my hard drive so I have nothing to make an I did not have access to a floppy drive but I successfully slipstreamed the RAID drivers in to an XP CD. In these cases, you will need to use a Windows PE environment.
For BootIt Next Generation/Image for DOS, create a startup floppy.DisclaimersThis procedure carries some risk. I was able to figure out a much simpler method of doing this. Exit the partition copy utility and shut down the system (power off).33. the only way to get it to detect in AHCI mode again is to set the firmware jumper, boot in to another install of windows in AHCI mode and upgrade the
The system BIOS understands the underlying disk and RAID array structures and formats. When you're done, Windows asks you to restart. trajanMay 14, 2010, 11:30 PM Keeping in mind that the original poster wrote this back in 2006, there is a much (much) easier way now if you are using Windows 7. Also, can I do the partition copying on another computer, using Acronis or Norton Ghost on that machine instead of the one the drive is being cloned on?
When I get a new PC model, I boot the OS and set it up with as little configuration as possible. Yup it definitely was frustrating like crazy.. Remove the Promise SATA300 TX2plus disk controller disk controller from the system.TestingI have tested this procedure using the following:An Intel D925XCV motherboard (925X north bridge, ICH6R south bridge)Windows 2000 ServerA 120GB If we use the console task, setting the drive to default, the PC will image, but then only boot to the ghost virtual partition. If we select drive 2 in console
To make the change, see the document 'Adding or modifying NIC templates in the Ghost Boot Wizard' http://service1.symantec.com/support/on-technology.nsf/docid/2000011211551725 Have you tried MS-DOS? I backed up my data on it and restored it (after lots of fun) to the ICH7R raid, but now I get the dreaded 7B BSOD.I can't boot the machine with Hawkeye22Aug 20, 2006, 1:31 PM Bravo! So if it fails at something like 68% you would likely have a corrupted drive that may look good but not really be there if you start running everything. this contact form Great post....Thanks...:) 3degreeMay 18, 2011, 4:23 AM trajan said: Keeping in mind that the original poster wrote this back in 2006, there is a much (much) easier way now if you boot into SSD. Posted by rhehr on 14 Dec 2015 13:33 I have no idea how you figured this out but you just saved my day. solved Does switching from AMD to Intel CPU and mobo require windows reinstall? Afterwards, I replaced those with AMD AHCI... have a peek here Power on the system, go into the system BIOS.
Long story short, I got a clients failing hard drive which I've backed up the data and I want to see if a clone will be successful so I don't have If the SATA drive still cannot be accessed, you may want to flash the BIOS on the client computer. Try it the way I outlined first and see if it installs for you.
Do NOT click “next” … leave it right here.
Do so now.11. There are a few other products out there as well. Whether it's a standard IDE controller, SATA controller, SCSI controller, or RAID controller, Windows has to have a driver for it in order to use it. Granted I think at that point it MAY have worked off Ghost or TrueImage but I just couldn't sacrifice the whole machine while it cloned at the time.
I'm not sure if its the fact that i created the ghost image with the previous version of the SSD firmware and trying to restore it to a newer version? This works great for my other models i.e 390 380 etc. 0 Chipotle OP jageorge Nov 26, 2013 at 7:48 UTC A little late, but here is what If, at any time, you are offered to “reboot” make sure you decline. 11) Once you have the RAID/AHCI drivers loaded properly (device manager reports “this device is working properly”), feel Check This Out Thanks again NMDAug 3, 2008, 1:34 AM I have windows installed on one wd raptor 150gb.

This is how I resolved this: I first installed the SATA drive as a slave and started WinXP, then it says "new hardware found... So we would remove the drives and put them on a known-good box, do the cloning and then move them back to their proper PC. Power on the system, go into the system BIOS. Thanks Bare Foot Kid....
